WildSavers.com started as a photo project for my kids in the summer of 2003. In addition to developing their photography skills (pun intended), it taught them to appreciate the outdoors and respect the plants and animals around them. It also helped them build their patience, as it took countless hours to compose, take, log, and capture the pictures in addition to creating the screensavers and compiling the CD. They are also learning a little about HTML and ecommerce by participating in creating all of the code for WildSavers.com. Any profits from WildSavers.com will be used for further projects to enhance the kid’s education.
All of the photos in the screensavers and wallpapers at Wildsavers.com were taken by Anthony (age 8), Stephanie (age 11), and Michael Snyder at local city parks in Eastern Iowa. The pictures were taken with the subjects in their natural setting, undisturbed; no artificial lighting was used nor any digital enhancing or editing (with the exception of adding logos and frames). Many other photos were taken in the making of our software and were voted out by the family. Special thanks to Mom who put up with us during this project!
